Description
Cataphractii armour is among the earliest variants of Tactical Dreadnought plate to see widespread use. Its defining feature is a set of massive, layered ceramite pauldrons that conceal enhanced shielding systems, dramatically increasing the durability of the warrior encased within. By the time the Horus Heresy erupted, every Space Marine Legion fielded large numbers of Terminators equipped with this formidable pattern of armour.
This multipart plastic kit allows you to assemble six Cataphractii Terminators, forming a unit of elite shock troops for Legiones Astartes armies in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. These warriors are equipped with volkite chargers and power mauls, enabling them to advance steadily through heavy fire and crush enemy units at close range.
One model can be assembled as a unit leader, with a choice of power sword, power axe, or thunder hammer, and may be further distinguished with one of three shoulder-mounted crests or an optional grenade harness. Another Terminator can exchange their volkite charger for a reaper autocannon, providing additional ranged firepower. Across the unit, each miniature offers options for alternate shoulder pads, matching thigh armour plates, and optional tilting shields, allowing for extensive visual customisation.
The models are free of Legion-specific insignia, making them suitable for any Legiones Astartes force, whether fighting in the Emperor’s service or siding with Horus during the rebellion.
Included with the kit is a Legiones Astartes Infantry Transfer Sheet containing 618 high-quality waterslide decals. These feature Legion symbols for forces such as the Iron Warriors, Sons of Horus, Salamanders, and Imperial Fists, along with numerals, honour badges, generic markings, script, and command icons.
The kit contains 170 plastic components and six 40mm round bases. Miniatures are supplied unassembled and unpainted; Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints are recommended for assembly and painting.
